"Sasha Senutovitch Ewing is a New Mexico–based artist and photographer working within a lineage of image-making, assemblage, and intuitive experimentation.Drawing from her mother Andrea Senutovitch’s sculptural practice and her family’s roots in Northern New Mexico, printmaking, and Russian émigré history, Ewing approaches photography as both document and alchemy, exploring memory, longing, ritual, transformation, and the spaces between presence and disappearance.
Working primarily in black and white, her work brings together portraiture, movement, performance, and constructed worlds to create images that feel at once intimate, haunting, and timeless."
